Hi Friends!

We’re Jonny (he/him) and Sandy (he/him), the Canadian queer, cis duo behind SOAP. We love queer politics and psychedelica, the great outdoors, 70s kitsch, our ginger cat, and checking our privilege.

SOAP is short for 'Operation Soap', the metro Toronto police's code name for the 1981 Toronto bathhouse raids. We've reclaimed this name with a simple mission: to recognize, re-imagine, and gayify Canada in all its glory holes. Sorry not sorry.

We share a deep reverence for queer histories. For us, SOAP is a platform to express our pride and our love for Canada’s gay past, present, and future. We believe in being loud - and a little goofy - so we hope our apparel adds to the glorious thunder our community continues to build.

We want SOAP to be something you can feel good about wearing for years to come. With that in mind we only print on premium base garments mainly sourced from an eco-friendly partner that is platinum WRAP-certified. They stand for green energy (with nearly zero landfill waste), fair trade, and the ethical treatment of workers.
